Thinking about it for 2 years, the boys finally, in like 3-4 day restored
the boat, and made it sea-worthy (mostly).
They did all of the following in 1 week:
- removed the deck carpet and glue (probably the longest single activity)
- designed in 3D CAD a new cedar structure, in bar style
- redecked the boat with simulated wood planks to the design
- rewired the controls (this was hours too, because sort of starting from scratch)
- roofed the boat with a cedar canopy
- tested the engine in a big bucket of water
- bartered for trailer use, installed a neighbor's pier
(their trailer didn't pan out, since their boats wiring had been eaten and they couldn't launch)
- borrow another trailer
- launch and test (Danny had to hold the choke on engine for a while)
- maiden voyage, with associated cookout
