After months of preparation by the whole team leading to here...
The team worked daily the week before, and then the whole day before the match...
Kevin/Danny stayed up until 3:00am night before (adults and Tommy bailed
around 1:00am), Having last minute "uh oh", and "we're dead" issues (only
one of which was one of the servo wires got snagged in a gear, shorted,
melted the wire and the heat from which, burned Kevin).
Team did great. 5 matches. Came in 6th overall out of 14. Kevin and Danny did driving
for the matches.
Most teams did not do autonomous. We did, although abandoned it for
matches 3, 4, and 5 since something was putting the tele-op mode motors
in a reversed configuration, which made controlling it very difficult.
In match 5, track came off early-on. Robot still soldiered on due to our
redundant-drive mechanism. Problems with lift in many matches, partially
related to front bumpers not lined up correctly (ran out of time night before
to perfect these... they turned out to be important) causing many issues
with getting debris under the track and causing erratic behavior. Still
managed to pull of a decent performance.
Team did great and had fun, even with some adversity with the 2nd and 3rd match lower scores.
